Yuu Yuu Hakusho on the Sega Genesis came out in 1994, published by Sega. It was part of that wave of licensed anime games that tried to capture the spirit of the show, though it didn't always get the attention of some of the bigger titles on the system. If you were a fan of the series back then, this was one of the few ways to step into that world on a console.

You control one of four main characters from the anime, like Yusuke or Kuwabara, and fight through a series of one-on-one battles. The main goal is to progress through the Dark Tournament, defeating opponents across several stages. The gameplay is built around special moves executed with specific button combinations, character-specific abilities, and a health bar that depletes as you trade blows. It moves at a fast pace, but the difficulty can spike unexpectedly on later enemies. Landing a well-timed Spirit Gun or pulling off a full combo string gives a solid, satisfying crunch.
