Zool 2 is that rare sequel that actually improves on the original—faster, weirder, and with way more wall-climbing ninja action. You’re still Zool (or his girlfriend Zooz, who controls a little differently), bouncing through surreal levels like Swan Lake gone wrong and a golf course where the hazards include sentient golf balls. The Amiga CD32 version throws in an extra level too, because why not?

It’s classic platforming with a twist: you’ve got to grab 99% of the candy tokens in each level before time runs out, which sounds simple until you realize half of them are hidden behind breakable walls or tucked in weird corners. The new spin attacks and wall-scaling make fights feel smoother, though I still panic whenever that bomb power-up starts tailing me—great for clearing screens, but terrifying if you forget it’s there.

And then there’s the Breakout mini-game with Zool’s two-headed space dog. Because of course there is. The whole thing’s got that early ‘90s Amiga charm—bright, loud, and just the right amount of chaotic.
