Quantum of Solace on the Nintendo DS came out in 2008, published by Activision. It was one of those licensed movie tie-ins that tried to do something a bit different on the handheld, using the hardware in ways that felt pretty natural for a spy game at the time.
You play as James Bond, moving through levels with a mix of stealth and action. The main goal is to complete missions by gathering intel, taking out enemies, and occasionally defusing bombs. Two mechanics stand out: using the stylus to peek around corners or silently strangle guards, and switching to a first-person view for shootouts where you aim with the touchscreen. The pacing shifts between careful sneaking and sudden firefights, which keeps things from getting too repetitive. It feels surprisingly tactile and involved for a DS game, even if some sections can be a bit unforgiving.
