Game Overview
A Sound of Thunder on GBA is a weird little top-down shooter where you run around a crumbling future Chicago blasting dinosaurs. The whole butterfly effect thing from the story is there, but mostly it just means the city keeps changing between levels, buildings falling apart or getting overgrown.
You start with a basic pistol, but soon get grenade launchers and these time-freeze bombs that stop enemies in place. The weapons feel satisfying, though the controls are a bit stiff. I remember one level where I had to weave between raptors while my ATV's tires kept getting stuck on rubble.
It's not deep, but there's something charming about how chaotic it gets when the screen fills with dinos and explosions. The two-player co-op is fun if you can find someone else with a copy.
