You wake up in a nightmare prison where everyone’s turning into mutants—grab whatever guns you can find and blast through pitch-black corridors before they spread the infection. The controls are clunky at first, but once you get the hang of it, the shooting’s weirdly satisfying.

Abuse came out in 1995, developed by Crack dot Com and published by Electronic Arts. It was one of those MS-DOS games that felt a little ahead of its time, with fluid animation and a gritty sci-fi look that stood out from a lot of what was around then. The setup is simple: you're a prisoner in a grim, industrial complex overrun by a biological experiment gone wrong.
You control an escaped convict armed with a variety of weapons, from a basic pistol to a grenade launcher. The goal is to fight your way through level after level of dark, maze-like facilities, clearing out mutated creatures and security forces. The game is known for its mouse-aimed shooting, which was unusual for platformers at the time, and its nonlinear, interconnected levels that encourage exploration. The pacing is fast and the difficulty is high, with limited health and ammo forcing careful movement. It feels tense and immediate, like you're barely staying ahead of the next ambush.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
