It was a time when platformers were everywhere, and this one fit right in with its colorful, cartoonish look. The game doesn't try to reinvent the wheel; it just drops you into the Smurfs' world with simple, straightforward goals.
You control Papa Smurf or one of the others, depending on the level, and you move screen by screen, jumping on mushrooms and avoiding enemies like Gargamel's cat or little forest creatures. The main objective is to rescue missing Smurfs by finding them in each stage, and you collect berries and other items along the way. The pacing is relaxed, not too hard for younger players, but some jumps require timing. It feels like a light, cheerful distraction, something you can pick up and play for a few minutes without much stress.
