You play as a chicken named Alfred, dodging robot clones and jumping on conveyor belts made of egg cartons to rescue your egg pal. The running animation’s ridiculous, the levels are packed with silly details, and somehow it just works.
Alfred’s Adventure is this weirdly charming little Game Boy Color platformer where you play as a chicken—well, the chicken, Alfred. He’s got this whole hero thing going on, except instead of saving princesses, he’s rescuing his egg buddy Billy from a bunch of robotic chickens (because of course they’re evil and cloning things).
It’s straightforward—jump on enemies, avoid spikes, collect stuff—but there’s something about the absurdity of it all that sticks with you. The controls are tight, and the levels have just enough weird little details (like conveyor belts made of egg cartons) to keep it from feeling generic. Also, Alfred’s running animation is weirdly hypnotic.
If you’ve got nostalgia for old-school platformers with a side of nonsense, this one’s a solid pick.
