Game Overview

Okay, so Alien vs. Predator on SNES is this weird little brawler that somehow slipped under the radar. It’s not the Capcom arcade one—just a totally separate, Japan-made take on the franchise. You pick between a Marine, Predator, or Alien (obviously I went Predator first) and punch your way through levels that feel like a mix of Final Fight and Contra, but with way more facehuggers.

The controls are a little stiff, and the hit detection can be janky, but there’s something charming about how over-the-top it is. Like, one minute you’re smashing xenomorphs with a shoulder cannon, the next you’re fighting a giant alien queen in what looks like a meat processing plant. It’s not perfect, but if you’re into ‘90s licensed games with weird energy, it’s a fun time.

Just don’t expect it to play like the arcade version—this one’s its own strange little thing.
