All Kamen Rider: Rider Generation came out on the Nintendo DS in 2011 from Bandai Namco. It was a solid side-scrolling brawler for a system that had plenty of them, letting you jump into the suits of various Heisei-era Riders. The game felt right at home on the dual screens, using the touch functionality for some menu navigation and special attacks.
You control a single Rider, chosen from a sizable roster, to fight through stages filled with enemy grunts and larger monsters. The main goal is to clear each screen of enemies to proceed, using a mix of standard attacks, special moves, and screen-clearing super attacks unique to each character. Combat involves stringing together combos, blocking or dodging incoming attacks, and managing a special meter for your most powerful techniques. The pacing is generally fast, though some enemy patterns require a moment to learn. It feels satisfying to plow through crowds with a well-timed Rider Kick.
