Play Angband Online
Dungeons reshuffle every run—one moment you're looting a chest, the next you're sprinting from a Balrog. Die, restart, and agonize over every scroll because that +2 dagger might just get you killed.

Angband came out in 1990 for MS-DOS, developed by Alex Cutler and Andy Astrand. It was part of that wave of early PC dungeon crawlers, the kind you’d load up after school and lose hours to. The screen was all text and ASCII symbols, but somehow that just made the darkness feel deeper.
You control a single character, descending level by level into a massive, randomized dungeon. Your goal is simple: reach the bottom and defeat Morgoth. You explore room by room, fighting monsters with swords or bows, collecting gear, and managing scarce resources like light and food. The pacing is slow, deliberate; every step could be your last. It feels like a tense, lonely struggle against impossible odds, where every small victory matters.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
