Another World came to the Game Boy Advance in 2005, published by Ubisoft. It was originally a PC and console title from over a decade earlier, so playing it on the GBA felt like carrying a piece of gaming history in your pocket. The platform was full of action and RPGs at the time, but this was something different: a cinematic, atmospheric adventure that relied more on tension and problem solving than on action.

You control Lester, a physicist pulled into a dangerous alien world during a lab accident. Your main goal is simply to survive and escape. The game plays out in discrete, screen by screen segments where you must observe your surroundings carefully, time your movements, and interact with the environment to progress. Key mechanics include evading creatures, solving physics based puzzles, and occasionally using a limited energy weapon for defense. It is a difficult, trial and error heavy experience where a single mistake often means death, but overcoming each challenge brings a real sense of accomplishment. Playing it feels like unraveling an interactive sci fi thriller where every step forward is earned.
