Play Another World on Snes Online

You wake up stranded on an alien planet—no hand-holding, just dodging lasers and solving puzzles with a lanky blue ally who says nothing but means everything. Every death stings, but nailing that perfect jump or outsmarting a guard feels incredible.

Game Overview

Another World on SNES is one of those games that sticks with you. You start as Lester, a scientist who accidentally teleports to a hostile alien planet—no explanation, no tutorial, just pure survival from the first second. The animation is weirdly fluid for a 16-bit game, like watching a rotoscoped sci-fi film where every movement feels deliberate and weighty.

It’s brutal, but in a way that makes every small victory matter. You’ll die a lot—drowning, getting shot, eaten by creatures—but the checkpoints are fair, and the puzzles force you to think on your feet. The best part? Your alien buddy. No words are exchanged, but by the end, you’ll care more about that lanky blue guy than most fully voiced RPG companions.

The soundtrack’s just a few synth notes here and there, but it somehow makes the loneliness hit harder. It’s short (you can finish it in an afternoon), but I’ve replayed it more times than I’d admit. Perfect for when you want something atmospheric that doesn’t treat you like an idiot.
