Another World (prototype) for the Game Boy Advance was an unreleased version of Eric Chahi's classic, developed by Delphine Software. It arrived late in the GBA's life, a time when the handheld was already crowded with ambitious ports and original titles, making this prototype a curious piece of what might have been.
You control Lester, a physicist stranded on a hostile alien planet. Your goal is simply to survive and escape. The game unfolds through screen by screen exploration, demanding careful observation and timing rather than combat prowess. You solve environmental puzzles, outrun monstrous creatures, and form a cautious alliance with a native alien. The pacing is deliberate, the difficulty unforgiving; mistakes are punished instantly, forcing you to learn through repeated failure. Playing it feels like deciphering an alien logic, where every small victory is earned through patience and observation.
