Play Apocalypse II (Europe) (Proto) Online
Pilot a 360-degree spinning ship through waves of asteroids—dodge, flip, and blast apart rocks until the screen’s too crowded to breathe. That smooth rotation makes even near-misses feel slick.

Game Overview
Apocalypse II is one of those weird SNES prototypes that never got a proper release, but honestly? It's a blast. You're piloting this little ship that can actually rotate 360 degrees—which feels surprisingly smooth for a 16-bit game—while dodging and blasting apart massive asteroids hurtling toward Earth.
The first few levels ease you in, letting you get used to the controls (took me a minute to stop spinning wildly into space debris), but then the screen starts filling up with way too many rocks to comfortably dodge. There's something satisfying about barely scraping past a cluster of them, then flipping your ship around to take out the stragglers.
It's not the deepest shooter out there, but the rotation mechanic gives it a unique feel. Just don't expect to beat it in one sitting—later levels get brutal. Still fun to fire up when you want some chaotic asteroid blasting.
