Aquaventure came out in 1983 for the Atari 2600, developed by Data Age. It was one of many games from that period that tried to do something a little different with the hardware, focusing on underwater exploration instead of the more common space or maze themes.

You control a diver who must collect treasure from the ocean floor while managing a constantly depleting air supply. The main goal is to grab all the treasure in a stage and return to the surface before you run out of air. You navigate screen by screen, avoiding or shooting sea creatures that become more aggressive the more you attack. The pacing is tense; you are always racing the clock, and the difficulty ramps up quickly as enemies multiply. It feels like a constant, frantic scramble against your own limitations.
