Game Overview

Ever played one of those SNES RPGs that flew under the radar? Aqutallion is one of them—a weird little gem with this eerie, almost dreamlike vibe. You start as Ray, leading a band of warriors called the Aqutallion (yeah, no idea how to pronounce it either) against Homncruse, some nightmarish cosmic horror thing.

First thing you’ll notice? The music. Haunting synth tracks that feel way ahead of their time for a 16-bit game. Combat’s turn-based but with this odd grid system—positioning actually matters, which keeps battles from feeling mindless. And the enemy designs? All twisted, fleshy abominations. Kinda makes you wonder what the devs were smoking.

It’s janky in places (translation’s rough, and good luck figuring out some mechanics without a guide), but there’s something weirdly compelling about its dark fantasy world. If you dig obscure RPGs with unsettling atmospheres, this one’s worth a look.
