Play Armour-Geddon Online
You juggle mad science in your bunker while piloting janky war machines topside—railgun research first, obviously, before the mutants fry your hideout with their death laser.

Armour-Geddon came out in 1991 for MS-DOS, developed by Psygnosis. It was one of those games that felt right at home on the platform, with its mix of strategy and real-time action fitting the era's experimental spirit. You don't see many games that try to blend base management with on-the-ground vehicle combat, but this one did, and it stood out for that.
You control a scientist in an underground bunker, managing resources and researching new weapons, while also taking direct control of armored vehicles on the surface to fend off mutant attacks. The main goal is to defend your base from being destroyed, which means balancing research, manufacturing, and combat. Key mechanics include upgrading your vehicles with newly developed weapons, managing energy and material stores for your bunker, and engaging in real-time battles across a hostile landscape. The pacing is tense; you're always scrambling to prepare for the next wave, and the difficulty can be punishing if you fall behind in tech. It feels like a desperate race against overwhelming odds, where every decision matters right up to the end.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
