Game Overview

Atari Greatest Hits - Volume 2 is like digging through a time capsule of early gaming. You get 50 classics—some arcade, some Atari 2600—all running on decent emulation that makes them feel close to the originals. The touchscreen controls are hit or miss (Crystal Castles' trackball works surprisingly well, but good luck with Super Breakout's slider).

Highlights? Black Widow still feels frantic, Warlords is a blast with friends, and stumbling on unreleased prototypes like Combat Two is a neat surprise. The 2600 stuff is more hit-or-miss—Basic Programming is basically a history lesson, but Yar’s Revenge holds up. Also, the extras are weirdly compelling—Nolan Bushnell’s interviews and scans of old manuals give it that "museum exhibit" vibe.

It’s messy, nostalgic, and exactly what you’d expect from a pile of Atari games crammed onto a DS cart.
