Play Austin Powers Online
Navigate mazes, rescue kidnapped women, and battle henchmen as Austin Powers in this quirky Game Boy Color adventure from 2000.
Austin Powers for the Game Boy Color came out in 2000 from Titus Interactive. It was part of that wave of licensed games trying to capture a movie's vibe on a handheld, back when a two-inch screen had to do a lot of work. You got the shagadelic suit, the exaggerated swagger, and a plot about stopping Dr. Evil; it fit right in with other pocket-sized adventures of the time.
You control Austin through a series of isometric levels, navigating maze-like environments. The main goal is to rescue kidnapped women and gather keycards to progress, all while avoiding or confronting henchmen. Signature mechanics include close-quarters combat, where you throw punches and kicks, and stealth sections that require timing and observation to sneak past guards. The pacing is deliberate, with some trial and error due to the perspective and occasional cheap hits. It feels like a straightforward, sometimes clunky adaptation that relies heavily on the charm of its source material.
