Game Overview

Babe and Friends came out for the Game Boy Color in 2000, published by Swing! Entertainment. It was one of those late-era licensed games that tried to capture a younger audience with simple, colorful graphics and a familiar cast. You don't see many people talk about it now, but back then it was just another title on the shelf next to more ambitious releases.

You control Babe the pig, moving him around grid-based fields to herd groups of sheep into their pens. The main goal is to clear each screen by guiding all the sheep safely, avoiding obstacles like fences, haystacks, and sometimes mischievous farm cats. Key mechanics include using trampolines to bounce sheep over barriers and timing your movements so you don't corner any animals. The puzzles start easy but gradually demand more foresight; it's not especially hard, but it requires patience. Playing it feels like quietly working through a series of little logic problems, one field at a time.
