Punch through Gotham’s goons with Batman and a rotating crew of heroes—Plastic Man stretches through gaps, Aquaman calls in a ridiculous octopus, and Green Arrow snipes switches from across the screen. It’s the cartoon’s goofy charm turned into a brawler where swapping heroes keeps things fresh.

Batman: The Brave and The Bold on DS is basically the cartoon come to life—bright colors, cheesy one-liners, and all. Joker’s up to his usual nonsense, but this time he’s dragged half of Gotham’s rogues gallery into it. The cool part? You’re not just stuck as Batman. Each level pairs him with a different hero like Green Lantern or Plastic Man, and their abilities actually change how you tackle stuff. Blue Beetle’s blaster makes quick work of ranged enemies, while Aquaman’s… well, he summons a giant octopus. Obviously.
It’s a side-scrolling brawler at heart, but there’s some light puzzle-solving—flip a switch as Batman, then switch to Green Arrow to snipe a distant target. The upgrades are simple but satisfying—grind enough bat-symbols from thugs, and you can grab stuff like a health boost or this ridiculous glowing sword that makes Batman look like a space knight. Boss fights are the highlight, though. Grodd throws exploding bananas. Clock King freezes time. It’s dumb in the best way.
After beating the story levels, you unlock challenge modes—solo runs with specific heroes, boss rushes, or wave survival. Nothing groundbreaking, but it gives you an excuse to replay levels just to hear Plastic Man crack jokes while stretching through walls. If you ever wanted a Saturday morning cartoon in game form, this nails it.
