Play Battle Blaze (Japan) Online
Pick a barbarian, swing a sword twice your size, and watch the sparks fly—it's clunky, chaotic, and weirdly satisfying when you land that stupidly huge axe hit.

Battle Blaze came out for the Super Nintendo in 1992, published by Data East. It was one of those early SNES titles that tried to blend side scrolling combat with a fantasy setting, back when developers were still figuring out how to make the most of the hardware. The game doesn't get talked about much these days, but it has a certain rough charm if you're into that era of experimentation.
You choose from four different warriors, each with their own oversized weapon, and fight through a series of one on one battles against monstrous opponents. The main goal is to defeat all the enemies and claim the throne; there's a light story about proving your strength, but the focus is squarely on combat. Signature mechanics include charging up your weapon for a more powerful strike and executing special moves by inputting specific directional commands. The pacing is deliberate, almost stiff, and the difficulty can feel uneven, especially when enemies block frequently. It feels like a straightforward, no frills brawler that demands patience more than reflexes.
