Play Battle of Olympus, The (Europe) Online
In Battle of Olympus, you control Orpheus, exploring ancient Greece, battling enemies, collecting items, and trying to rescue Eurydice from the underworld.
Battle of Olympus for the NES came out in 1989, developed by Infinity. It was one of those late 80s action-adventure games that borrowed a lot from Zelda II, but set it all in ancient Greece. You don't see many games tackle that mythology so directly.
You control Orpheus, trying to rescue his love Eurydice from the underworld. The game plays out across a large map of Greece, moving screen by screen. You use a sword and a bow for combat, and you collect items like the winged sandals to reach new areas. It's a slow, methodical game with some very tough platforming and enemy patterns. Exploring its world feels lonely and deliberate, like a long, quiet journey.
