Game Overview

Bi-Fi II - Action In Hollywood is one of those weird, charming Amiga games that feels like it was dreamed up at 3 AM after too much caffeine. You play as a detective (or maybe a rogue scientist? The manual wasn’t clear) navigating a surreal, vaguely cyberpunk version of Hollywood where everything’s slightly off—think neon palm trees and robots arguing about movie scripts.

The controls take a minute to get used to—there’s a lot of pixel-perfect jumping over pits while dodging… I think they were supposed to be paparazzi drones? But once it clicks, there’s something oddly satisfying about the way your character moves, like a slightly drunk action hero. The soundtrack’s all synth and bass, which somehow makes the whole thing feel even more like a VHS tape you’d find in a thrift store.

It’s janky, but in that way where you can tell the developers were having fun. I still don’t fully understand the plot, but I kept playing just to see what bizarre set piece would show up next. Definitely an acquired taste, but if you like Amiga oddities, this one sticks with you.
