Download Blue Max - Aces Of The Great War_Disk2 ROM – Amiga Game
1990 Amiga WWI flight sim with split-screen multiplayer. Features turn-based strategy on hex maps, 3D dogfights, and varied missions against air/ground targets. Playable aircraft include Fokker, Sopwith, and Spad.
Blue Max is one of those Amiga games that makes you feel like you're actually in a rickety WWI biplane, dodging bullets and trying not to stall mid-dogfight. You start by picking your plane—Fokkers handle differently than Sopwiths, and it takes a few crashes to figure out which one suits you.
The split-screen mode is a blast if you've got a friend around, letting you team up or go head-to-head. But the weirdest (and coolest) part? You can suddenly freeze the action and switch to a hex-based tactical view, like some bizarre hybrid of flight sim and board game. It shouldn’t work, but somehow it does.
Missions range from straightforward shootouts to bombing runs where you’re desperately trying to line up a target before your engine gives out. Just don’t expect forgiving controls—this is the kind of game where you’ll nosedive into a field more often than you’d like to admit.
