I picked up Bob et Bobette: Les Dompteurs du Temps back when it came out in 2001 for the Game Boy Color, published by Infogrames. It was one of those late-era GBC titles that tried to squeeze a little more out of the hardware before the Advance took over, and it’s based on the long-running Belgian comic series. You don’t see many European comics turned into games, so it always felt like a curious oddity.

You control both Bob and Bobette, switching between them to solve environmental puzzles and navigate through different time periods. The main goal is to gather pieces of a scattered invention while dealing with obstacles and enemies like guards or wild animals. The gameplay involves a lot of screen-by-screen exploration, item collection, and using each character’s unique abilities to progress; Bob can push heavy objects, for example, while Bobette might fit into smaller spaces. The pacing is fairly relaxed, though some puzzles require careful timing or backtracking. It feels like working through a lighthearted, interactive comic strip where cooperation and experimentation are key.
