Body Blows Disk3 came out on the Amiga in 1993, developed by Team17 Software Limited and published by MicroLeague Interactive Software. It was part of a wave of one-on-one fighters that tried to capture some of the energy of arcade hits, but on home computers. The game offered a simple, no-frills approach to the genre, fitting right in with what many Amiga owners were playing at the time.

You pick from a small roster of fighters, each with a basic set of punches, kicks, and a few special moves executed with joystick motions. The main goal is to deplete your opponent's health bar before they deplete yours. Matches play out on single-screen stages, and you can knock your rival into the background for extra damage. The pacing is fairly quick, and the difficulty can feel unforgiving, especially against the computer. Landing a well-timed special move to finish a round provides a genuine, if simple, satisfaction.
