Body Harvest came out on the Nintendo 64 in 1998, developed by DMA Design. It was one of those games that felt a bit ahead of its time, trying to blend open-world exploration with action on a console that was still finding its footing with 3D environments. You could tell they were aiming for something ambitious, even if the hardware sometimes struggled to keep up.

You play as Adam, a soldier sent back through time to stop an alien invasion across different eras. The goal is to protect groups of humans from being harvested by saving them within a time limit. You drive a wide range of vehicles, from jeeps and tanks to planes, and use various weapons to take down the alien forces. The game is structured in large, open levels where you complete objectives in any order, though the timer adds constant pressure. It can feel janky at times, but when you’re mowing down waves of enemies with a stolen alien weapon, the freedom and scale make it satisfying.
