Trapping monsters in bubbles just like the arcade, but now you can scribble bubble paths on the touchscreen—kinda silly, but it works. Still feels right popping those classic fire bubbles between bus stops.
Bubble Bobble Revolution is basically the DS version of that old arcade game you might’ve played in a pizza place as a kid—except now you’ve got Bub and Bob bouncing around on your tiny screen. You’re still trapping enemies in bubbles and popping them (which never gets old), but the touchscreen adds some weird little gimmicks, like drawing paths for your bubbles. Some of the new power-ups are fun, though I still prefer the classic fire and lightning bubbles.
It’s not a huge reinvention, but if you’ve got nostalgia for the original, it’s a solid way to kill time on the bus. Just don’t expect anything mind-blowing.
