Burning Fight came out for the Neo Geo in 1994, developed by SNK. It was part of that wave of arcade brawlers that tried to capture the energy of games like Final Fight, but with SNK's own style. You control one of two detectives fighting through screen after screen of urban thugs. Your main goal is to punch and kick your way to the end of each stage, facing a boss who usually has a few cheap moves up their sleeve. You can pick up weapons like pipes or knives dropped by enemies, and there's a grappling system that lets you throw or suplex opponents. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can spike suddenly, especially when you're surrounded. It feels like a straightforward, noisy brawl from start to finish.
