Bust-A-Move 4 on Game Boy Color keeps the same satisfying bubble-popping action as before, but with some fun extras. You pick a cute little character (I always went with the purple dragon) and start shooting colored bubbles up the screen, trying to match three of the same color to clear them. The new Story mode adds a bit of personality—beat a stage, get a Tarot card, and watch tiny story bits unfold depending on who you picked.
There’s also a Win Contest mode if you just want to see how long you can keep a streak going against the CPU. But the real challenge? Puzzle mode. You’ve got to solve pre-made bubble layouts as fast as possible, and if you nail it, you unlock Edit mode to build your own devilish puzzles. I spent way too much time making impossible ones just to frustrate my friends.
It’s the same Bust-A-Move you know, just with enough new stuff to feel fresh on the GBC.
