Play C.O.P. - The Recruit (US) Online
You start as a rookie cop busting criminals in a grimy open city—tail suspects in car chases, brawl in alleys, and unravel a shady conspiracy between shootouts and sneaky warehouse raids. The driving takes getting used to, but nailing a tight pursuit feels great on the DS.

C.O.P. The Recruit came out on the Nintendo DS in 2009, developed by Velez & Dubail and published by Ubisoft. It was part of that wave of DS games trying to bring open world action to a handheld, something you didn't see too often on the system. It had a certain ambition to it, even if the hardware showed its limits.
You play as Dan, a new cop thrown into a big city full of crime. The main goal is to work your way up, solving cases and uncovering a larger conspiracy. A lot of the game is driving; you chase down suspects in your patrol car, and the touch screen is used for steering, which can feel a bit loose. On foot, you get into fistfights and shootouts, and there are some investigation sections where you search for clues or tail people without being spotted. The pacing is uneven, with some missions dragging, but pulling off a clean arrest after a hectic chase is genuinely satisfying. It feels like a rough but earnest attempt to put a GTA style experience in your pocket.
