Play Captain Planet and the Planeteers Online

Remember that 90s cartoon where kids with magic rings fought pollution? Yeah, this is the NES game version of Captain Planet and the Planeteers, and it's exactly as weirdly specific as you'd expect. You start by picking one of the Planeteers - I always went with Wheeler (fire guy) because throwing fireballs at oil spills never gets old. Each character's power drains from an energy meter, so you can't just spam attacks. Wind creates this weird air shield, Earth tosses rocks... honestly, Heart power (which 'calms' animals) feels kinda useless until you're getting chased by mutant raccoons.

The levels flip between two modes: outside you're riding in these clunky vehicles (good luck controlling the submarine), and inside sections let you combine powers to summon Captain Planet himself. He's way stronger but dies in one hit - typical superhero fragility. The hitboxes are janky as hell, so expect to get randomly killed by pollution clouds that barely touched you. Still, there's something charming about how earnestly it recreates the show's eco-message while letting you punch deforestation robots.
