Chameleon Twist came out for the Nintendo 64 in 1997, developed by Japan System Supply. It was one of those quirky platformers that showed up early in the console's life, a time when developers were still figuring out how to use 3D space in interesting ways. You control a chameleon navigating through a series of surreal, screen based levels. The main goal is to reach the exit in each stage, but getting there means using your extendable tongue in clever ways. You can grapple onto hooks to swing across gaps, latch onto enemies to fling them or use them as platforms, and even bounce off your own tongue to reach higher areas. The pacing is methodical, with some tricky jumps and enemy placements that require patience. It feels a little janky at times, but there's a unique satisfaction in mastering the stretch and pull of that goofy tongue to overcome each obstacle.
