Game Overview

Championship Pro-Am is one of those Sega Genesis racers that somehow feels faster than it should. You're zooming around these tiny, colorful tracks in a little toy-like car, bouncing off ramps and barely avoiding obstacles—giant tires, oil slicks, the occasional rogue traffic cone. It's got that classic Rare charm, where everything moves just a little too fast and physics feel more like suggestions than rules.

First time I played, I immediately crashed into three different things before realizing the brakes are basically decorative. The cars handle like they're on ice, which sounds frustrating but somehow makes every near-miss feel like a victory. Split-screen multiplayer turns into pure chaos, especially when someone discovers the turbo power-up and immediately yeets themselves into a wall.

It's not deep, but it's the kind of game where you'll restart a race just to nail that one ridiculous jump you botched earlier. The soundtrack even has that early '90s Sega synth energy—all squeaky guitar riffs and drum machines. Definitely a hidden gem if you like your racing games loud, silly, and slightly unhinged.
