Chuck Rock II is one of those weirdly charming Genesis platformers where you play as Chuck Rock Jr., swinging a club at dinosaurs who clearly didn’t get the memo about extinction. The controls are a little stiff—expect some awkward jumps—but there’s something satisfying about bonking raptors on the head while dodging lava pits. The levels get surprisingly creative, too, like one where you ride floating logs down a river while pterodactyls dive-bomb you. It’s not the deepest game, but the cartoony style and dumb dinosaur fights make it a fun throwback.
