Game Overview

Circuit USA is one of those weird SNES racing games that feels like NASCAR if it got filtered through early '90s Japan. You’ve got real-ish driver names (probably mangled in translation) and these wild, banked fantasy tracks that feel like someone sketched them on a napkin after too much coffee. The handling’s a bit slidey—took me a lap or two to stop plowing into walls—but once you get the hang of it, there’s something satisfying about nailing the perfect drift around those ridiculous hairpins.

Weirdest part? The track editor. You can draw your own monstrosities with loops and sudden drops like some kind of sadistic rollercoaster designer. My first attempt was basically an oval with a random chicane in the middle, and the AI drivers absolutely hated me for it. If you’re into obscure SNES racers, this one’s got personality, for better or worse.
