Clay Fighter 2: Judgment Clay is the kind of game that makes you stop and go, "Wait, what?"—in the best way possible. Instead of the usual martial artists or cyborgs, you get a bunch of bizarre, squishy clay characters beating the stuffing out of each other. There’s a stretchy blue dude who flings himself across the screen, a snowman with a mean right hook, and… well, let’s just say the roster doesn’t make much sense, but that’s the charm.
The animations are ridiculous in the best way—every punch looks like it was sculpted by someone who had too much coffee. The stages are just as weird, with some of them wobbling like they’re made of Jell-O. It’s not the most technical fighter out there, but who cares when you’re laughing at a boxing kangaroo getting flattened by a sentient pile of goo?
If you played the first Clay Fighter, this one feels smoother and adds a few fresh faces to the madness. It’s the kind of game you throw on when you just want to mess around with a friend and see who can land the dumbest-looking move. The soundtrack’s got this weird carnival vibe that somehow fits perfectly. Definitely one of those "had to be there" SNES gems.
