Clonk APE came out in 1994 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by RedWolf Design. It was a time when shareware titles often experimented with physics and multiplayer, and this one fit right in with its focus on cooperative, and often disastrous, construction and destruction.

You control a tribe of Clonks, small cavemen-like creatures, directing them to dig through terrain, build structures, and gather resources, all while trying to complete objectives like capturing a flag or defeating an enemy tribe. The signature mechanics involve the deep terrain manipulation, where you can tunnel through almost anything, and the physics-based building that often leads to catastrophic collapses if you aren't careful. The pacing is frantic, especially in multiplayer, as you juggle giving orders and trying to prevent your own workers from causing a chain reaction of failures. It feels like trying to manage a group of enthusiastic but profoundly uncoordinated friends who are armed with explosives.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
