I picked up Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs for the Nintendo DS back in 2009, a tie-in game published by Ubisoft. It came out during that era when licensed games were everywhere, especially on the DS, and this one tried to capture the movie's chaotic, food-filled spirit. It's a side-scrolling platformer that puts you right into the messy world of Chewandswallow.

You play as Flint Lockwood, running and jumping through levels as food rains down from the sky. The main goal is to survive each stage, often by reaching a specific endpoint or completing objectives while avoiding hazards like giant meatballs or falling pickles. A couple of the game's mechanics involve using Flint's inventions, like the spray-on shoes to climb sticky surfaces, and timing your movements to dodge unpredictable food avalanches. The pacing is fairly quick, and the difficulty can spike with some awkward platforming sections. It feels exactly as silly and frantic as you'd expect from a game based on food weather.
