Club & Country is one of those old-school Amiga soccer management games where you feel like you're actually running a club, not just picking lineups. You start off in the Third Division, scrambling to keep your team afloat—signing bargain players, arguing with the board about stadium repairs, and praying your star striker doesn't get poached. The finances are brutal early on, and I remember firing my physio just to save cash (bad idea, by the way).

Matches play out through text commentary with these little comic-style pop-ups for goals or red cards—no fancy animations, just your tactics unfolding in real time. You can tweak everything mid-game, from swapping formations to telling your left winger to stop hogging the ball. It’s surprisingly tense watching those text updates scroll by, especially when you’re clinging to a 1-0 lead in the rain.

If you survive long enough, you might even land the England job. Just don’t expect the FA to forgive you for selling all your defenders to buy a fancy new scoreboard.
