So, Coconuts for the Atari 2600 is this weirdly frantic little game where you play as Stanley, some poor explorer getting pelted by coconuts from a monkey named Coco. Yeah, that’s the whole premise. You start with a helmet and an umbrella, which sounds like overkill until you realize Coco has terrible aim but throws fast. Lose both items, and the next coconut knocks you out—game over.

At first, dodging feels easy, but after a while, Coco starts chucking those coconuts like he’s got a personal grudge. The speed ramps up, and suddenly you’re zigzagging like crazy. Sometimes you earn back a lost item if you survive long enough, which is a nice little breather before the chaos picks up again.

It’s simple, ridiculous, and weirdly tense when you’re down to just the helmet. You’ll either love it or wonder why monkeys are so mean.
