Play Combatribes, The Online
Pick a muscle-bound hero and brawl through neon-lit streets, sending goons flying with spinning lariats and dive kicks—everything from mailboxes to cars explodes when you hit it just right.

I picked up The Combatribes for the Super Nintendo back in 1992, a Technos Japan release that fit right in with the era's love for side-scrolling beat 'em ups. It wasn't trying to redefine the genre, just deliver a solid, straightforward brawler with a distinct style.
You control one of three steroid-pumped vigilantes, each with slightly different moves, and your job is to clear the city of gangs screen by screen. The signature mechanics are the environmental interactions, like smashing enemies into phone booths or parked cars, and the ability to grab two thugs at once for a powerful double slam. The pacing is relentless, with waves of enemies keeping the pressure high, and the difficulty can feel punishing if you're not careful with your positioning. It feels like a raw, chaotic street fight where every object is a potential weapon.
