Confrontation came out for the Atari 2600 in 1983, published by Data Age. It was one of those late-era cartridges that tried to do something a little different on the aging hardware, a two-player strategy game in an ocean of arcade ports and maze chases.

You control a small group of blocky units, moving them one space at a time across a grid-based battlefield. The goal is to maneuver your forces into the opponent's base while protecting your own. The game uses simple mechanics like unit movement, terrain obstacles, and direct combat when units meet. The pacing is slow and deliberate, almost like a digital board game, but the tension builds with every move since a single mistake can leave your base wide open.
