CrossCheck is one of those classic Amiga hockey games that somehow nails the chaotic energy of the sport without getting bogged down in realism. You pick your team (I always went for the red guys—no idea why), and suddenly you're slamming players into the boards, taking wild slapshots, and watching the puck ricochet like it has a mind of its own.

The controls are simple—pass, shoot, check—but the real fun comes from how unpredictable every match feels. One minute you're celebrating a lucky goal, the next you're scrambling to stop a breakaway because your defenseman decided to take a nap. The pixelated crowds even cheer when things get rough, which is a nice touch.

It's not the prettiest or deepest hockey sim out there, but for quick, arcade-style matches, it still holds up. Just don't expect to walk away without a few bruised pixels.
