Play Last Action Hero Online
You play as Arnold’s action hero, punching through waves of goons while dodging random gunfire from that stupid floating crosshair—then suddenly you’re in a car chase, because of course you are.

Game Overview
Last Action Hero on the Genesis is exactly what you'd expect from a 90s movie tie-in: a rough-around-the-edges beat'em up with some weirdly fun driving bits. You play as Jack Slater (Arnold's character from the film), punching your way through four levels that sorta-kinda follow the movie's plot—starting with that over-the-top action sequence from the fake "Jack Slater III" film within the film.
The first thing you'll notice? That annoying crosshair that chases you in level one, randomly shooting at you while you're trying to fight knife-wielding goons. Movie tickets float down occasionally to heal you, which feels oddly satisfying when you're down to your last sliver of health. Boss fights are the usual 90s fare—dodge patterns, wait for openings—but Benedict as the final boss actually puts up a decent fight.
Then there are the driving sections. They're janky but weirdly addictive—you're side-scrolling again, but now you're launching your car off ramps to crush enemy vehicles below. It makes zero sense physics-wise, but hey, neither did most of the movie. The cutscenes try to stitch it all together with pixelated versions of key scenes, though they take some... creative liberties with the plot.
It's not a great game, but if you grew up with the movie, there's some dumb fun here.
