You control Jack Slater, moving through side scrolling stages filled with thugs to punch and obstacles to jump over. The main goal is to rescue the kid, Danny, by fighting your way through city streets, a movie theater, and other locations from the film. Signature mechanics include picking up and using different weapons dropped by enemies, like pistols or machine guns, and navigating vehicle chase segments that break up the standard platforming. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly, especially during sections with constant enemy spawns. It feels like a chaotic, slightly messy attempt to turn a bombastic movie into a playable experience.
