Play Last Action Hero on Msdos Online
Walk right, punch bad guys, grab pipes—it’s pure ‘90s Schwarzenegger cheese with clunky controls and repetitive action. The sprites are rough, but hey, it’s Arnold.

Last Action Hero came out in 1994 for MS-DOS, published by Psygnosis. It was one of many licensed games from that era, trying to capture the energy of a big summer blockbuster on home computers. You played as Arnold Schwarzenegger's character, Jack Slater, in a side-scrolling beat 'em up that felt very much of its time, with digitized sprites and a lot of straightforward action.
You control Jack Slater, moving from left to right through city streets and movie sets, punching and kicking an endless supply of thugs. The main goal is to progress through each level, defeat bosses, and ultimately stop the villain. Key mechanics include picking up temporary weapons like pipes or guns from defeated enemies, and navigating simple environmental puzzles, such as jumping across platforms or finding keys. The pacing is fast but repetitive, and the difficulty can feel unforgiving due to stiff controls and limited moves. It feels like a rushed attempt to translate movie excitement into a playable experience, with more frustration than finesse.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
