Game Overview

Curse of the Azure Bonds on the Amiga is one of those classic RPGs that feels like it’s aged both terribly and beautifully at the same time. You start off waking up with these weird magical tattoos (the "azure bonds," obviously) and no memory of how they got there—classic fantasy amnesia. The pixel art’s charmingly clunky, and the combat’s turn-based in that old-school "move everyone one square at a time" way. Took me a minute to get used to the controls, but once it clicks, there’s something satisfying about slowly picking apart enemy groups with your party.

Don’t expect modern conveniences, though. You’ll be scribbling notes on actual paper to remember where that one NPC said to go, and the difficulty spikes can be brutal. But if you’ve got nostalgia for late ‘80s RPGs or just want to see where a lot of modern mechanics came from, it’s a weird little time capsule. Just save often—trust me on that.
