Game Overview

So here's the deal: Castlevania III throws you back a century before the first game, where Dracula's being his usual nightmare self—raising an army of the undead to drown the world in darkness. The villagers who once kicked out the Belmonts are now begging Trevor Belmont to save them. Classic irony, right? He grabs the family whip (the Vampire Slayer, because of course it has a cool name) and heads straight into Dracula's messed-up castle.

If you've played the original Castlevania, this feels familiar—side-scrolling, whip-cracking, candle-smashing action. But here's where it gets interesting: you pick paths that change which levels you play, and sometimes you meet allies like a wall-climbing pirate or a magic-wielding sorceress. You can only take one at a time, and switching between them mid-level adds this weirdly strategic layer—like, do you want flight or fireballs for this section? Oh, and those sub-weapons? The axe feels heavy but satisfying, the holy water melts bosses, and the stopwatch... well, it's situational. Just don't expect it to save you when you miss a jump onto tiny platforms (because yes, those are still here).
