Game Overview
Castlevania: Legends on the Game Boy takes you back to where it all began—before the Belmonts were legends, when Sonia (yep, a teenage girl) decided she'd had enough of Dracula's nonsense. You've got your classic whip, creepy corridors, and that satisfying thwack when you hit a candle for hearts. But here’s the twist: sometimes you can pick between paths, like taking the high road to dodge a swarm of bats or diving into the basement for a hidden upgrade. Miss too many, though, and you’ll get the "good job, I guess" ending instead of the real one.
Sonia’s got this killer move called Burning Mode—hit a button, and suddenly she’s blazing through enemies invincible for a few glorious seconds. Boss fights drop orbs with elemental attacks (my favorite’s the flame whip, obviously), and you can swap between them anytime. Just don’t get too attached—those hearts drain fast. The music’s got that classic Game Boy chiptune gloom, and the final whip upgrade shoots fireballs, which almost makes up for the fact that Medusa heads are still the worst. Almost.
